Home is what happens when a developer (for lack of a better term) comes up with a cool idea and immediately proceeds to invest millions of dollars into it without ever asking the question "what is it good for?"
Or, for visual learners, it's the equivalent of Clone High's Knork.
Men acting and dressing up like women so others can think....you know
Seriously, it's a place for pedophiles and this is coming from a PS3 fanboy ;)
HOME is like a fine wine, the older it gets, the better it will be. Nonstop-MadnessAnd the quicker it goes down.
Yeah its kind of sad, I walked around dressed as a girl for an hour only engaging in small conversations and got like 20 friend adds.Men acting and dressing up like women so others can think....you know

To me its one of the most stupid functions for a console ever.. That development time and money should have went to perfecting the PS3 UI and reworking the online service and store to actually be able to compete with Xboxlive.. sSubZerOo
For the most part, I agree, but I suppose there is a chance it might actually become non-craptacular at some point. TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a silly decision made back when Sony was full of themselves (well, more than they are now), and is mostly being continued because of the effort and money already invested in it.

I've never been on XBOX live, but what's the different between PSN and XBL? I keep hearing this argument but don't have the experience myself, as I usually don't go online with consoles.Home isn't dead, a lot of people are still utilising it. Home is fun when you're bored and play games in Home with strangers or friends, play snookers, arcades, bowling, Red Bull Race, etc. Make friends in Home! It's a good service.
My two favorite PS3 games, congrats man :D Thanks XD[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="Lethalhazard"] Right now I only can afford MGS4 and Uncharted :).Lethalhazard

It was a horrible attempt by Sony to actually make money via micro transactions.Wasdie
Fixed. and it's not dead. It was the fanboys who "hyped" it as an "XBL killer1!" I must admit. at first (before actually trying it out during the beta) I was optimistic about it bringing a lot to the PSN, possibly even bumping it up to the level of XBL in terms of user-friendliness.
Whilst for some, it's all that and a bag of chips... For me, it was ruined the day the first wave of pay-to-use microtransactions came around. I mean really, $1.00 for a shirt? $6+ for a whole outfit? Sure, now the price of items is down to around $.50 per item, but even so, a full outfit is still 5 or so pieces, with accessories, you're talking $3+ for the whole kit and kaboodle, since they charge tax. IMO, Tax should be included in the up-front price of things.
Sure taxes aren't that outrageous, but it's a bit of a deterrant for me to buy things off the PSN.
I understand that Sony is trying to get some of what they put into the program back, but for the love of god... why does everything have to be so spendy? At least lately they've been giving away free promo shirts and such, which is ok, as it gives the people who don't really want to spend money on anything a few more options.
In all honesty, Home just isn't my thing. it got pretty boring when they took open voice chat out, and the fact that you STILL have to "wait in line" to do ANY activities sucks. Home isn't a failure, but it sure is taking a long time to get nowhere.
Home is not that bad.
Its just that i rather play games than wonder around trying to make a conversation with strangers all the time.
It's not dead. People may think it's lame, but there is a large fanbase who stay on Home. They buy new things, play the mini games, and there's a new Home space every 2 weeks. There are tons of social gamers. I think it's cool for awhile. Overtime they should add more things to keep those who want to 'game' interested. Its dead. It was a horrible attempt by Sony to actually make their service better than XBL.

A free service that generates money for Sony with micro transactions and advertisement. Win/win. I'd like to see more worthwhile features for the 'I only want to game' community. For the social community Home is gold. New spaces every other week and updates.its not a ghost town, people actually use this FREE service :P
